Are you happy with your current hosting?
We have used many hosting providers over the last few years. Hostgator, cough, Bluehost, cough and others.
One of the main reasons is because WordPress hosting tends to change a lot. It’s constantly evolving and as time goes by, we would notice that the service quality of many of these hosting providers would diminish over time. Or that they would become apparent as time went by, like your website going down often, and for extended periods of time.
In the end. we were left with the sense that we needed a change.
So back in 2016, we had been hearing a lot about a company called Siteground from many in our digital community. These guys were raving about Siteground and the quality of their services. So we decided to use them for a website we were about to launch.
Safe to say, we were impressed and pleased by the things we discovered and experienced with their hosting services. Here’s a just a few:
Why We Switched To Siteground Hosting
1.) Awesome & Knowledgeable Customer Support
One of the things we look for from a hosting company’s customer support is how knowledgeable and willing they are to help you out. Siteground customer support reps have proved to be valuable, knowledgeable, and consistent with their quality of service, and how fast they to respond to support tickets and fix your issues.
Plus, how quickly you can get someone on the phone to help you with your situation. Which leads me to my next reason why I switched.
2.) Instant Phone Support
One constant irritation from our previous hosting provider(s) was how long it took to get someone on the damn phone!
Quite a number of times, we would be on hold for close to an hour. The average wait time being around 39-44 minutes.
The couple of times we needed to get Siteground customer support on the phone to help out with our issue, it didn’t take very long for someone to answer. Sometimes, it would be in the middle of the night working to finish a project with a deadline, and we would need help with something. So we would call and pretty much get someone right away.
When we called during the day, it didn’t take very long to get someone on the other end of the phone, and 1 or 2 times, we were on the phone for almost an hour trying to resolve an issue.
This was big for us because, typically, its company policy to only stay on the phone with a customer for no more than 15-20 minutes on a support call for many hosting companies.
3.) Instant Chat Support
Though we have not used utilized this support feature with Siteground, it’s available for those who would prefer getting technical support over chat than over email or phone. Plus, it’s nice to have this support feature that we can utilize anytime we want 24/7. By they way, they provide 24/7 customer support.
4.) High Performance & Great Website Loading Times
This was by the far the biggest reason to switch from our former webhosts to Siteground. One of the things Siteground does is once you install WordPress on your server, they provide a custom plugin that they developed and support called SG Optimizer. With this plugin, you can utilize their caching service called SuperCacher, which helps greatly to make your site load faster.
This is a great plugin as it helps you optimized your website for faster loading speeds. Plus, this plugin and all it features come as part of your hosting package, without any extra charge.
5.) Free SSL Certificate
One of the pleasant things I discovered last year with Siteground, when Google was really pushing website owners to install SSL certificates and setup HTTPS encryption on their websites, (if you haven’t done so for your site, contact Siteground here and see how they can help you out), is Siteground already provides free SSL certificates to their customers.
Meaning you don’t have to pay a single penny to have an SSL certificate installed on your sites hosted with Siteground. That’s a lot of money saved, because let’s say you have 10 websites hosted on your shared hosting account. Each website requires an SSL certificate. You can install an SSL certificate on all 10 of them, Free of Charge.
NB: You can’t do that with Hostgator, as they charge $39 a year for an SSL certificate for 1 website. Godaddy charges $67.49/year for 1 website. So do the math for however many of your sites that need an SSL certificate.
Here’s another cool thing, you can also use their SG Optimizer plugin to enable HTTPS encryption on your website, with a single click.
That means you can be confident that your website is in compliance with the latest Google and Chrome browser encryption requirements. Which is the same for all the other search engines and browsers on the market.
6.) Free Website Migration
Another perk with switching to Siteground, is you get free website migration. Typically, with shared hosting accounts, you have one cPanel account in which you have all your other sites hosted there, whether it 2, 5, 10, 25 websites. Whatever the number may be, depending on your current hosting plan with your webhost.
Siteground can move/migrate that entire cPanel account with all the sites you have in that shared hosting account, for free.
Once you sign-up with Siteground here, simply submit a support ticket (which they will show you how), and then they will migrate your website(s) for you, while you sit back and enjoy your chai latte.
Oh, and let’s not forget…
7.) Free Backups
Yep, free backups for all your sites on your hosting account. They provide free daily backups free of charge, included on all your hosting accounts. They provide 30 days backup for Shared accounts and 7 days backup for VPS accounts.
That will provide you with great relief and piece of mind, knowing that you can access backed up versions of your site, should an issue arise where you need them.
And finally the pièce de ré·sis·tance…
8.) Great Price
You would think for all these benefits, you are paying a pretty penny for all the benefits and more. But, no you would be wrong. Price shouldn’t be the only factor when deciding on a hosting company.
Other things like customer support, website load speeds, reviews from current customers which you can find plenty online, should also be in consideration along with the price.
Siteground provides great hosting packages for WordPress sites, and not just for WordPress sites, but for other types of web hosting as well, with plans starting from $3.95/m. All their hosting plans come a 30 Day money back guarantee, and great discounts to get your started.
Siteground is a hosting service we recommend because we use them (this site is hosted on Siteground). And thus far they continue to outperform compared to other hosting companies we have used before. Click here to give them a chance. You will get value for your money and more.
